Kari Samantha Wuhrer (born on April 28 in 1967) was an American performer and actress. Wuhrer began her career as a teenager. She is known for her roles as Maggie Beckett in the television series Sliders and as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), a payroll accountant, and German American Andrew Wuhrer, a police officer and automobile salesman. There are three of her siblings. In her teens she was a nightclub performer by sneaking from the house. From the Wooster School at the age of 13, she began studying acting. Later, she attended the Tisch School of the Arts located at New York University, Marymount Manhattan College located at Columbia University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, with the renowned professor Uta Hagen.
