Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on 28 October 1967 at Atlanta. Julia Fiona Roberts is the 4th generation Roberts that resided in Atlanta. Her father was an early interest in the stage. When he was studying of Emory University in 1952 he performed in shows on campus and elsewhere in Atlanta. He joined the Air Force in 1953. While being stationed at Biloxi Mississippi was cast in an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was also in Air Force. They got married in 2005, and they had their first baby, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter attended Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after he left the Airforce in the year 1957. Walter started working at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter and Betty Lou began producing a children's television program in Decatur, Georgia called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They financed the production themselves. They also founded the Actors and Writers Workshop in that same year. It was in operation for a period of about six years. They also had Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) and Julia (also also known as Julie) in this time.
