Lucy Liu is an American voice actress, producer, and singer. A beautiful and smart actress, she's an example to many Asian actors who want to be successful in Hollywood. Her early success was boosted when she appeared in a few popular shows. She played the villainous Ling Woo. Following her success, she landed significant part for her in Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). For Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave a stunning performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii. She also played leading parts in box office flops like Rise: Blood Hunter. Then she began voicing the characters of animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen parts, did not achieve any success. Southland is a critically-acclaimed series of police dramas that included Liu in multiple roles, helped her reestablish her status as a performer. Liu is very careful in selecting her roles in order that she is not the victim of a highly competition-driven industry. She has acknowledged her Chinese heritage, however she has not let them hinder her creative abilities.
