Lucy Liu, an American voice actor, producer and singer is also an accomplished actor. She is an attractive, intelligent actress who inspires many Asian actors to make it in Hollywood. After a series of appearances in popular TV series, she became famous for her role in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. Following a dramatic rise in popularity, the actress was offered roles on major screens including Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Then, she gave an her best role in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime lord O Ren Ishii. In the same period she was also in box-office failures including Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated films like Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and many others, she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small screen roles failed to bring her any success. Southland's highly praised police show, Southland and a recurring role helped Liu re-establish her status as a well-known actress. Liu selects her roles carefully to ensure she is not a victim of the highly competitive field. She's taken on her Chinese heritage however she has not let them hinder her creative abilities.
