Sheryl Underwood was born in the state of Arkansas and grew up in the state. She was a television host on the talk show daytime The Talk. But her passion was comedy. The show was named the first woman to be a finalist in the Miller Lite Comedy Search, held in 1989. She began her TV career when she was regularly performing at the HBO Comedy Show Def Comedy Jam in 1992. She appeared on Oh Drama! as the host in 2000. In 2011, she began appearing on The Talk as co-host. In addition she has also played fictional roles in series such as Bulworth Nikki, and Beauty Shop.
