Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football with volunteer work in the community. First family, he's the youngest of nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon raised on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. In second football, he was the third brother who played for Oklahoma. All three became All-America. In 1973, Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the first-teamers for the entire year. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the United States by Outland and Lombardi Awards. In his three years as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. In his role as an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was given the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third season in the year 1975. Selmon is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week during his time at college. He moved to Tampa after college, was a member of the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and was three-times all-pro. His career in business began. He began his career in 1988. worked as an Account Relation Officer in the First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as one of the top 10 youths in the US. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds when he was a student athlete. He played for the team of 1975. He was promoted to the assistant director of Athletics at University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 by the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 and in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma was the person who presented the award.
